For a puppy to be affected by EIC or CNM, both parents have to be either affected or each parent has to be a carrier. If one parent is clear for both conditions, the puppies cannot be affected. Annie's parents are Dandy and Chester, and neither of them were carriers for these conditions.

This one will be harder to follow, but I know that Annie is not a carrier due to "parentage."

Annie's sire is Chester and he is clear

Annie's dam is Dandy.  Dandy is proven clear by parentage. Dandy's parents are Charlie and Goldie. Both Charlie and Goldie are clear. This means that Dandy is clear and that Annie is clear.
