June 12, 2010 and Joy
was watching Jessie fix lunch. Jess looked down and could see a bag
of fluid coming from Joy. Labor was starting! Over the next few
hours, we all watched and waited. Joy was not really pushing and the
delivery was not progressing. You could see an anxious look in her
eyes. After much deliberation and discussion, we packed her up to
the emergency clinic. The x ray revealed that there were 4 puppies
and the first to exit the birth canal was holding up the show. That
first pup's head was in one uterine horn and the back legs were in
the other uterine horn. We had to do a C-section or lose our
Papillon. Two hours later, Joy was nursing 4 beautiful puppies. You
can meet each of them below by clicking on their name/number.

Papillon Girl 1
"Reba Devin" is reserved by Rhana!
14 oz at 4 weeks
1 lb 8 oz at 7 weeks
The email to the right came to me in Jan of 2011.
Because Joy had 4 in this litter, these pups are smaller. When a
litter size is large, the puppies tend to stay smaller. When there
are only 2 puppies in a litter, the puppies tend to be bigger.

Beth,
Thank you so much for the link to the
video. We went to watch an event before we got our puppies and
it does look like a good thing to do with Reba and Willie.
They just turned 7 months old and they are
both doing well. Willie weighs 4lbs 12oz and Reba weighs 4lbs
11oz.
They are so much fun. They are very
loved.
Willie is turning blonde but Reba is still
a redhead.
I will be better about sending you
pictures of them so you can see their progress.

Paulette, his owner emailed me in Jan. of
2011.
"Hi Beth,
Thanks for sending the video. It was great fun to watch. As a
matter fact, Cedric and I are signed up to start agility training
next Thursday. He is so clever, I know he will do great at it !! I
just hope I can keep up with him.
Let me know if you hear of anymore agility events, I'd love to go
watch.
Take care,
Paulette" |
