Bailey belongs to Denice
from Mini Distractions. We were overjoyed to get
the opportunity to blend his movement into some of our future
babies. This boy can move. He leads the pack every time we go
driving.
Being a
Cremello, he will dilute
any mare we breed to him. Magic and
him produced a beautiful Palomino baby
in
2010! |
When watching
Bailey move, I puzzle over WHY he is so fast. But, look at his
extension! He has a ground covering trot that is wonderful to
watch.

him in video.
Is he a Perlino or a
Cremello?? If Buckwheat was a Cremello, he would
always throw the "a" gene to his babies. Another way
of saying this is that he would always throw a
single red gene. Thus, if he were bred to another aa
mare or red base mare, they could ONLY produce red
babies.
So, I found a red mare
that he was bred to. Her name was Little Kings Mon
Ami. They produced Little Kings Debonaire. This was
easy for me to find because he belonged to a sweet
lady here in Phx and has almost identical breeding
as our Donny. Anyway, if he was Cremello, he would
have donated an 'a' gene and same with the mare.
They could only have made a red based baby.
Debonaire was black based.
Here is another reason
why I am guessing Perlino. In the AMHA stud book,
Buckwheat has 55 foals. 54 of them
have black bases. If he were red (aa), we would see
more red based babies from him. And, that one red
based baby of his?? I think I would want to DNA her
and see if she is really his??? I can't explain
where she would have come from. Her name is Mythical
Farms Scarlet Babe.
I am not an expert and
may be wrong, but this is all kind of fascinating.

Sire of 29
National Champions!!!
Boones
Little Buckeroo, a living legend! He
gained the title of International Grand Champion
at the young age of two years old. He stunned
all miniature horse fans again by becoming
International Grand Champion just one year
later. Then, in 1983 he and Lowell were
undefeated. Out of 5 shows, he came home with 5
Grand Champions. He was retired after he won the
AMHA National Grand Champion and has been
producing more champions at Little King Farm.
Look for the Breyer's horse that is modeled
after him! |
The Buckeroo
bloodline is so sought after because of his ability to
pass on his gorgeous expressive face with the large
eyes, his long neck and strong topline and finally, his
get possess an athletic presence with natural action and
a presence that is way bigger than their mini size!
(Click on the name above these pictures to read more
about Boones Little Buckeroo!)
The Buckeroo bloodline is also seen in
Chance of Gold's Don Juan,
Painted Sun Call Me Success,
Short Storys Painted Sun
and Crystals Easter Lily.
